I'm curious though why CWC is singled out though. It was not the last pan-European culture in these areas I don't believe. bellbeakerbloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01848982163843593127noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6886680068187530519.post-69600448472049963212017-04-06T16:31:17.125-05:002017-04-06T16:31:17.125-05:00I think that the substrate argument is one made by...I think that the substrate argument is one made by another pair of authors who are cited in this article. The substrate paper by somebody else may be worthwhile, but this preview is doing the substrate argument no favors with its rather obviously overstated claim about proto-Germanic or even pre-proto-Germanic that is not just wrong in time frame, but is wrong in geography and wrong in the ethnic identity of the people involved and wrong about the likelihood of a significant differentiation from PIE even existing at that point in time. The fact that there are multiple problems with the graphic in terms of timing and geography is likewise problematic.andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08172964121659914379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6886680068187530519.post-84848611895714630222017-04-06T11:05:56.855-05:002017-04-06T11:05:56.855-05:00You'll like the next postYou'll like the next postbellbeakerbloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01848982163843593127noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6886680068187530519.post-293724931953398452017-04-06T10:04:15.723-05:002017-04-06T10:04:15.723-05:00Thank you!
